§01  What we install in hospitality

Coverage to brand spec, with the retention your risk team needs.

What a property gets once Tec-Tel commissions the system, and what your GM, F&B director, and risk manager see from day one.

Slip-and-fall detection in lobbies and pool decks. Computer vision detects a person on the floor in monitored zones and surfaces an alert in seconds. The clip is the evidence record when the GL claim shows up six months later.
Intoxication + altercation analytics in bars. Behavior analytics tuned for crowded bar environments flag fights, shoves, and unsteady-gait patterns before the bouncer sees it. Pairs with the existing PA so a manager can intervene before an over-service incident becomes a dram-shop claim.
Valet + porte-cochère LPR. License-plate recognition on valet stands, self-park decks, and front entrances. Stolen-vehicle alerts, valet ticket reconciliation, incident-reconstruction lookups when a guest reports damage three days after checkout.
PMS-aware room-access tracking. Access-control events bridge to Opera, Mews, and Cloudbeds via published APIs. A door open with no active reservation flags. A staff entry to an occupied room is logged with a timestamp tied to the badge holder.
Cash-handling coverage at front desk and POS. Camera coverage of the cash drawer, safe room, and POS terminals at each F&B outlet. Built to satisfy PCI-DSS Requirement 9 and give LP a clean record for cash-variance investigations.
Staffing and queue analytics at the front desk and outlets. The same cameras that cover the lobby flag a check-in line backing up or an F&B outlet short-staffed at peak. The GM gets a live read on where to move people instead of hearing it from a guest complaint or a bad review.
Object detection for amenities and back-of-house. Computer vision flags an unattended service cart in a corridor, an out-of-stock amenity station, or a blocked back-of-house exit. Operations gets the alert in real time, so the small things guests notice get fixed before they post about them.
Guest-flow and dwell analytics. Anonymous flow patterns show where guests bunch up, which entrances and amenities get used, and where a layout change would cut friction. Useful for renovation planning and for sizing staff coverage to real traffic, not a floor plan from opening day.

§ How we work

When a GL claim lands and your camera retention has already rolled, you're exposed. We rebuild coverage to brand spec and set retention to the litigation window your risk team needs, so a footage request gets answered in hours instead of days.

How Tec-Tel works in hospitality

§02  How a Tec-Tel deployment works

Five steps, one accountable team.

01

Walk every property before we quote

No quote-by-floorplan. We come on site, talk to your GM, F&B director, and IT lead, and check the brand spec on file.

02

Standardize to the brand spec

Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt all publish camera and access-control specs. We design and install to whichever spec is on file at your brand portal at the time of work.

03

Size the network and PCI scope first

PoE budget + PCI-DSS Requirement 9 are the real constraints. We touch switches, cabling, and CDE coverage before any analytics.

04

Tune analytics for hospitality contexts

Slip-and-fall and bar analytics need on-site calibration to reach low false-positive rates.

05

Hand off with a runbook

Your team gets a written ops doc: brand-spec install package, escalation tree, retention rules, who calls Tec-Tel for what. We sequence around your renovation calendar.

§03  How we deploy

Three property types. Three tailored builds.

A boutique property, a flagged full-service hotel, and a multi-property portfolio each carry a different brand standard and liability exposure. Here's how the three break down.

Boutique · 40-100 cam

Limited-service or single-property operator, franchisee-run

  • 40-100 cameras: lobby, exterior, parking, corridors, back-of-house
  • Cloud VMS, no on-prem server to maintain
  • PMS bridge for door-access events (Cloudbeds, Mews)
  • Retention sized for PCI + slip-and-fall response
Full-service · 80-200 cam

Mid-size brand-flag property with F&B, ballroom, valet

  • Brand-standard install (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt)
  • Opera or Mews PMS bridge, ALOHA or Toast on F&B
  • Optional valet LPR + porte-cochère coverage
  • Liquor commission-aware coverage of licensed-service areas
Portfolio · 10-100 properties

Multi-brand ownership group, regional install cadence

  • Standardized hardware spec satisfies each brand standard
  • Central VMS with role-based property-scoped access
  • Regional crews, single 24/7 monitoring contract
  • Phased rollout aligned to renovation + brand-conversion calendar

§04  Compliance buyers ask us about

Frameworks we build to.

PCI-DSS Req 9

Cardholder data environment: front desk, POS at each F&B outlet, safe rooms. Retention set to your assessor's requirement, badge access mapped to areas.

Liquor commissions

Most states require documented coverage of licensed-service areas. Camera angles and retention designed for the commission record from day one.

ADA

Door-access hardware to ADA 2010 reach ranges (15-48"). Audible + visual alarms so hearing-impaired guests are notified. Accessible front-desk and visitor kiosks.

GDPR (US-touching)

For US properties with EU guests: signage at entry, retention disclosed in the privacy notice, deletion-on-request workflow on managed cameras.

Questions buyers ask us

FAQ

What does an AI security install cost for a hotel?
It depends on the property size, camera count, and whether you have F&B, valet, and pool to cover. A boutique hotel under 100 cameras lands lower; a full-service property with restaurants, bars, valet, and pool runs higher. A multi-property portfolio amortizes per-property through a standardized brand-spec design. The free consultation is where we scope the property and come back with a number.
Will this satisfy our brand standard? We're a Hilton, Marriott, or IHG property.
Yes. Each major flag publishes a camera and access-control specification. We design and install to the spec on file at your brand portal at the time of work, document the install package, and hand it back for the property-improvement-plan checklist. We've worked with Hilton properties before.
How does access control integrate with our PMS like Opera, Mews, or Cloudbeds?
Through published APIs and standard event bridges. A reservation creates a credential window. The credential is provisioned to the lock or reader. Door events log back to a security audit trail and, where the PMS supports it, surface on the front-desk dashboard.
Does video coverage at the bar cover the liquor commission requirement?
Most state liquor commissions require documented camera coverage of licensed-service areas and retention long enough to support a complaint review (typically 30 to 90 days, varies by state). We design to your specific state's expectation and support a longer window where local rules or your insurer require it.
How long do we need to retain hotel and restaurant video?
Three signals drive retention: PCI-DSS Requirement 9 where you process cards, state liquor rules where applicable, and your liability insurer's window for slip-and-fall response. We design storage to whichever requirement is longest for your property and your state.
