Pricing

Pricing follows the design, not the other way around.

Tec-Tel doesn't publish a flat price list because every site is different. Most commercial security installs run between $30,000 and $300,000+, depending on site count, camera count, AI scope, and cabling. The free consultation walks your sites and gives you the gap, the scope, and a rough cost band before anyone quotes a number.

§01  Enterprise install price bands

Three bands cover most commercial installs.

Find the row that looks like your operation. The consultation tells you which band you're in and why.

Small single-site

$30K - $75K

One location. 8 to 30 cameras. Existing cabling. Standard access control. No AI analytics layer.

IP cameras, NVR or cloud VMS, basic access control on a few doors, network drops as needed, install and one year of service. The package most QSRs, small retail, gyms, and houses of worship pick.

Mid-size multi-site

$75K - $200K

2 to 10 locations. 30 to 100 cameras total. Some new cabling. Multi-door access. Optional AI on a subset.

Standardized camera spec across sites, networked access control with mobile credentials, structured cabling for new builds, optional AI analytics on flagship locations, 24/7 monitoring add-on, multi-year service contract.

Enterprise multi-site

$200K and up

10+ locations. 100+ cameras. Full AI analytics layer. Enterprise access control. Dedicated project management.

Full-stack design across every site, enterprise VMS from the major platforms, AI on existing + new cameras, dedicated project manager, contractor-compliance install paperwork, structured cabling, 24/7 monitoring, multi-year service contract with SLAs.

§02  What drives the price

Six variables move every quote.

If a security company quotes you a number before understanding these six things, that number isn't real. The consultation is where we pin them down for your sites.

Site count and geography One site is cheaper per camera than ten. Twenty sites in one state is cheaper than twenty across twenty states. Nationwide rollouts price in crew travel and a project-management premium.
Camera count and type The spec drives the number more than the count. An outdoor vandal-rated PTZ with LPR costs far more than an indoor fixed dome, so the mix of camera types matters as much as how many you hang.
Cabling scope Pulling new cabling in a finished building is the most expensive line item we quote. If your cabling works, we use it. If it doesn't, we tell you what new drops cost up front.
AI analytics layer AI is a per-camera or per-site software license on top of the hardware. On existing cameras that support it, the marginal cost is software only. New AI-native cameras cost more but bundle analytics.
Access control depth Three doors with card readers is a small line. 50 doors with mobile credentials, visitor management, and badge-event integration to video is a different conversation.
Monitoring and service 24/7 monitored response, optional remote security agents, and a multi-year service SLA each price separately. Most multi-site operators bundle them; single-site operators often skip monitoring.

§04  Why we talk before we quote

A real quote is a designed quote.

The cheapest security install is the one that fixes the actual problem with the cameras you already own. The most expensive one is the rip-and-replace that ships before anyone walked the building.

We start with a call. Real questions about your sites, your existing infrastructure, your compliance posture, and the outcome you need. After the call, you get the gap, the scope, and a rough cost band.

If you move forward, the design phase produces the actual quote. Pricing follows the design. Not the other way around.

Questions buyers ask us

FAQ

Why doesn't Tec-Tel publish flat pricing?
Every site is different. Camera count, cabling status, AI scope, monitoring tier, and service SLA each move the number. A flat price list would lowball half the buyers and overcharge the rest. The bands above tell you roughly where you'll land; the free consultation tells you exactly.
How much does a typical commercial security install cost?
Most fall between $30,000 and $300,000+. Small single-site jobs (8-30 cameras, no new cabling, basic access) land $30K-$75K. Mid-size multi-site (2-10 sites, 30-100 cameras) lands $75K-$200K. Enterprise multi-site with full AI analytics starts around $200K, and large rollouts run well beyond.
What's included in the free consultation?
A call with the Tec-Tel team. We walk through your sites, the cameras and infrastructure you already have, your compliance posture, and the outcome you're trying to hit. After the call, you get a directional recommendation: what you have, what's missing, what we'd add, what we'd leave alone.
Do you charge for the consultation?
No. The consultation is free. Pricing follows the design phase, which only happens if you move forward. There's no obligation to take the next step.
Can you work within an existing budget?
Usually yes. If you have a fixed number, tell us up front. We'll scope the install to fit, flag what gets dropped, and tell you which dropped items matter most for risk. The consultation is the place to set the budget conversation.
Do you finance or lease?
We work with multi-year service contracts that spread the install cost across the term, which functions like financing for most buyers. For lease-to-own or capital equipment leasing, we partner with third-party financiers and can introduce you on the call.
Are there ongoing monthly costs?
Typically three lines: (1) cloud VMS subscription if you go cloud (per-camera, per-month), (2) AI analytics software licenses (per-camera or per-site), (3) optional 24/7 monitoring. The consultation breaks each line out so you can model the run-rate.
How does Tec-Tel compare to other integrators on price?
We're not the cheapest and we're not the most expensive. Multi-vendor flexibility usually saves money on hardware (no rip-and-replace, no platform lock-in). One partner, one invoice usually saves money on operations (one team accountable end to end, one service contract). A strip-mall integrator selling one platform will beat us on a single small site. We win on multi-site, on the AI add-on, and on the year-five service contract.
