Privacy Policy

How Tec-Tel Communications collects, uses, and protects information from visitors and customers of tec-tel.com. Effective 2026-04-27.

1. Who we are

This privacy policy applies to Tec-Tel Communications ("Tec-Tel", "we", "us"), a security integrator headquartered at 275 State Hwy 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. It covers tec-tel.com and any subdomain. Questions about this policy should go to info@tec-tel.com or by mail to the address above.

2. What we collect

We collect three categories of information.

2a. Information you provide

When you submit a contact form, request a callback, book a meeting, send us an email, or call us, we collect the data you give us. That typically includes your name, business email, phone number, company name, role, and any free-text message describing your security project. Forms are powered by HubSpot. The data lands in our HubSpot CRM (portal 49584329) and routes to the sales team.

2b. Information collected automatically

We use the following analytics and tracking tools on tec-tel.com:

  • HubSpot tracking cookie. Sets a cookie on first visit to associate later form submissions with your earlier visits. Used for lead attribution.
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Page views, traffic sources, device type, approximate location, and aggregate behavior. IP addresses are anonymized in transit.
  • Google Tag Manager. Container that loads our tracking scripts. No data collected by GTM itself.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking. Records when a form submission or call originates from a Google Ads click. Used for ad attribution.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag. Records page visits from LinkedIn ad clicks. Used for ad attribution and retargeting.
  • Kular.AI. Sales intelligence platform that helps us prioritize outreach to in-market accounts based on visit signals.
  • Microsoft Clarity (when enabled). Anonymous heatmaps and session replays of how visitors use the site. We may enable Clarity for site optimization. When enabled, Clarity does not record form fields, passwords, or other sensitive inputs.

2c. Server-side log data

Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-term server logs of requests, including IP address, user agent, and request URL. These logs are used for security and abuse prevention only and are typically retained for 30 days.

3. How we use it

  • Reply to your inquiry, schedule a meeting, and continue the sales conversation.
  • Send service updates, technical notices, and follow-ups related to projects you've engaged us on.
  • Send marketing email if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of any marketing email.
  • Measure how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Identify in-market companies for outbound sales outreach.
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

4. How we share it

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers and only to run the business. Specifically:

  • HubSpot (CRM, forms, tracking).
  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager).
  • LinkedIn (ad attribution).
  • Kular.AI (sales intelligence).
  • Microsoft (Clarity, when enabled).
  • Vercel (hosting).
  • Resend or similar transactional email provider (when used to send service emails).
  • Our service partners and sub-installers, when needed to deliver an install or service work you've engaged us on.
  • Legal authorities if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights.
  • An acquirer, in the event Tec-Tel Communications is acquired, merged, or its assets transferred. Customers will be notified.

SMS / text messaging. Phone numbers collected for SMS (including the dispatch notification program for our subcontractor technicians) are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. They're used solely to deliver the messages you opted into and to coordinate work. Full program terms, opt-in and opt-out keywords, and message rates are on the SMS Terms page.

5. How long we keep it

  • Contact form submissions: retained in HubSpot CRM for as long as the contact remains active. Deleted on request.
  • Closed customer records: retained for 7 years after the close of the last project, to support warranty, audit, and tax requirements.
  • Analytics data: 14 months (GA4 default).
  • Server logs: approximately 30 days.
  • Marketing email lists: until unsubscribe.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR (if you're in the EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (if you're in California), or other state and national privacy laws. Tec-Tel honors the following requests from any visitor regardless of jurisdiction:

  • Access. Get a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction. Correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion. Have your information deleted, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability. Receive your information in a machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out of marketing. Stop receiving marketing email at any time.
  • Opt-out of sale or sharing. We don't sell your information, but if you'd like us to also stop sharing it for cross-context advertising (LinkedIn, Google Ads retargeting), email us.
  • Non-discrimination. We won't deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service based on a privacy request.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@tec-tel.com or call 855-577-0400. We'll verify your identity (we typically ask you to reply from the email address on file) and respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies and tracking

Tec-Tel uses first-party cookies (HubSpot) and third-party cookies (Google, LinkedIn, Kular.AI, Clarity when enabled). You can disable cookies in your browser, use Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, or use the opt-out links provided by the third parties:

We honor GPC signals as a request to opt out of sale and sharing under CCPA/CPRA.

8. Security

Tec-Tel uses industry-standard security measures: HTTPS everywhere, encrypted data at rest in HubSpot and our other vendors, role-based access inside the CRM, and routine review of who has access to customer data. No system is perfect. If we discover a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you in accordance with applicable law.

9. Children

tec-tel.com is a B2B site for commercial security buyers. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we've inadvertently collected information about a child, email info@tec-tel.com and we'll delete it.

10. International transfers

Tec-Tel operates from the United States. If you're outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By submitting information to us, you consent to that transfer.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be posted on this page at least 30 days before they take effect.
