Protect a lot that sits open all night.
Tec-Tel designs, installs, and runs cameras, lot-perimeter analytics, and service-drive incident capture for franchise and independent auto dealers. Multi-rooftop, with verified response on every lot.
- NDAA-compliant
- Platform-agnostic
- 1,000+ deployments over 15 years
§01 What we install at dealerships
Coverage that protects the lot after hours.
What a dealership gets once Tec-Tel commissions the system, and what your GM, fixed-ops director, and F&I office see from day one.
§ How we work
Catalytic-converter theft off the lot is a monthly threat at many dealerships. We put perimeter analytics and verified response on the rooftops, so a monitoring agent can talk down an after-hours intrusion before anyone gets under a vehicle.

§02 How a Tec-Tel deployment works
Five steps, one accountable team.
Walk every rooftop before we quote
No quote-by-aerial. We come on site, talk to your GM and fixed-ops director, and document lot, service drive, and showroom coverage.
Standardize across the dealer group
One camera platform. One access platform. Twelve rooftops, one VMS, one runbook.
Size the network for the lot
Lot coverage needs hardened cameras, PoE-plus, and fiber across acres of asphalt. Infrastructure before cameras.
Tune analytics for dealership contexts
After-hours-intrusion and theft-posture analytics need on-site calibration. Lot lighting and weather change the model.
Hand off with a runbook
Your team gets a written ops doc: escalation tree, retention rules, DMS integration where useful, who calls Tec-Tel for what.
§03 How we deploy
Three dealership types. Three tailored builds.
A single franchise rooftop, a multi-rooftop dealer group, and an independent used lot each draw the perimeter differently. Here's how the three break down.
One franchise dealership, showroom + lot + service
- → Lot perimeter + after-hours intrusion analytics
- → Service-drive incident-capture coverage
- → Showroom + F&B + cashier coverage
- → Key-cabinet access with audit trail
Auto group across many franchise points
- → Standardized camera spec across rooftops
- → Central VMS, role-based access per store + per GM
- → Cross-store theft-pattern alerts
- → Single 24/7 monitoring contract
Independent used-car lot or wholesale operation
- → Lot perimeter coverage with verified response
- → Inventory-aisle LPR for unit reconciliation
- → Office + cash-handling coverage
- → Cloud VMS, no on-prem server
§04 Compliance buyers ask us about
Frameworks we build to.
Covers dealership customer financial data. Camera coverage of F&B offices + cashier supports the physical-safeguard portion of your written information security program.
Service-bay safety: lift areas, hot work, pedestrian-vs-vehicle. Near-miss documentation and a footage record for the safety program.
Manufacturers publish facility-image and security expectations. We design and document installs that satisfy the OEM facility-standard checklist.
Lot-theft and customer-vehicle-damage claims. Retention long enough for the typical claim window, time-stamped exportable clips.

Questions buyers ask us
FAQ
- How much does dealership security cost per rooftop?
- It depends on lot size and existing infrastructure. Lot coverage drives the cost (hardened cameras, fiber across acres of asphalt) more than the showroom does. A dealer group amortizes the per-rooftop cost through a standardized spec. We scope every rooftop on the consultation before we quote, so your number reflects your actual lot, not an aerial guess.
- Can you stop catalytic-converter and tire theft?
- Directly. AI flags after-hours people on the lot and theft-posture behavior, then 24/7 verified-response monitoring confirms and dispatches before the converter is off. Lot perimeter coverage is the cheapest mitigation for the most common dealership loss.
- Does it help with service-drive damage disputes?
- Yes. Cameras on the write-up lanes and service drive capture the vehicle condition at drop-off. When a customer disputes pre-existing damage, the timestamped clip settles it.
- Does it integrate with our DMS?
- Where your DMS supports it. We scope whether camera events can be associated with repair orders, or key-cabinet access with your DMS user list, against your specific platform in the consultation. Direct integration is not assumed and depends on your DMS.
- Will it satisfy our OEM facility standard?
- Yes. Manufacturers publish facility-image and security expectations. We design and install to the OEM standard on file and document the package for your facility-standard checklist.
