Security equipment and installation for your property

  • Security cameras and access control in common areas. Start with the lobby, elevators, shared corridors, parking access, and delivery entrance. Decide which areas the building owner manages and which belong to each occupant. We position cameras around that agreed boundary and discuss who may review recordings. A shared system should not mean every tenant gets access to every view. Supported account permissions help keep those responsibilities separate.
  • Door readers and tenant credentials. A controlled door can use cards, fobs, or supported mobile credentials instead of one code that keeps spreading. We plan user groups and schedules around the building’s needs, then explain how to remove access when someone leaves. Before connecting an existing entrance, we inspect its lock, wiring, and controller. The proposed system must fit the physical door as well as the management plan.
  • Visitor intercoms and door release. A video intercom can let a visitor contact an authorized person without opening the whole building to public traffic. For several occupants, discuss the directory, call destinations, and after-hours handling. We confirm which functions the selected platform supports. Test the process with the people who will actually answer, including what they should do if a visitor has reached the wrong entrance.
  • Video recordings and access-event review. Camera names should match the names staff use for doors and common areas. We configure the agreed recording, user access, and any supported connection between door events and video. That can help a manager find the relevant time and location. We also check storage needs and show authorized users how to save a clip before it is overwritten by the normal recording cycle.
  • Access-control credential planning. Make a door list with an owner next to each entry: building management, an individual business, or another authorized party. Add the users and hours for that door. Keep video-viewing permission on a separate list. Someone who can enter a common hallway does not automatically need access to its recordings. Settling those responsibilities first makes equipment selection and account setup much more straightforward.

Products Tec-Tel installs and configures

Projects can include the equipment and services below. We assess your site and existing systems before confirming the products, installation work, and support in your proposal.

  • Security camera installation - Indoor and outdoor cameras, network video recorders, and video storage. We mount cameras, run cable, configure recording, and test the view at each location.
  • Access control installation - Card and fob readers, electronic door locks, controllers, credentials, and management software. We install the selected equipment and configure who can enter each door and when.
  • Video management systems - Software for live camera viewing, recording playback, video export, and user permissions. We configure supported cloud, on-site, or hybrid systems and check existing camera compatibility.
  • AI video software - Software that searches recordings or flags selected activity for review. We assess equipment compatibility, configure the selected functions, and test them against the project requirements.
  • Structured cabling - Cat6, Cat6A, fiber, racks, patch panels, and network connections for cameras, doors, phones, and business networks. We install, label, test, and document the cabling.
  • Business phone systems - Business phones, VoIP service configuration, call routing, and paging. We coordinate the equipment, network readiness, installation, testing, and staff transition.

Monitoring, entry, and video software solutions

  • Remote video monitoring - Connect compatible cameras to a monitoring service, with event review and response instructions defined for the property.
  • Visitor and contractor management - Plan visitor entry, intercom calls, and supported door-access permissions around the people who approve access.
  • License plate recognition - Select cameras and software for reading vehicle plates. Camera position, lighting, vehicle speed, and system compatibility determine suitability.
  • Workplace safety video analytics - Assess software for selected safety events, such as PPE or forklift activity, and configure alerts for staff review. Detection depends on the selected system and conditions.
  • Complete security system installation and support - Coordinate cameras, door access, video software, cabling, and selected monitoring or maintenance services in one project scope.

Keep shared building access separate from individual businesses

Hackensack’s downtown rehabilitation plan covers a mixed-use area around Main, State, and River streets. A building that combines shops, offices, and apartments needs more than one rule for entry. A shop may be open while the upstairs lobby remains controlled. Deliveries may use another door entirely. We help separate those needs on a floor plan and turn them into camera views, door permissions, and intercom routing that the property manager can understand.

From design through service

  1. Bring the owner and manager together. Start with an entrance list, tenant responsibilities, and known problems. Include the person who manages keys today and the person who can approve work in common areas. Both are useful to the first planning conversation.
  2. Check the building infrastructure. We assess equipment rooms, cabling, camera positions, and door hardware. If a renovation is planned, compare the security work with the new layout so installation timing and responsibility for related work are clear.
  3. Test each access role. Try the system as an employee, a building manager, and a visitor. Confirm that each person can reach the intended area and use the intended camera views. Check the agreed daytime and after-hours settings.
  4. Document the handoff. Record who can add users, change schedules, retrieve video, and request service. The proposal and handoff should also explain any ongoing software or support charges and the process for adding another occupant later.
