What Arvist is

Arvist is a warehouse-focused computer-vision platform. It is designed to connect activity captured by cameras with the operational context around receiving, shipping, labeling, scanning, damage review, and dock work. Instead of treating video as evidence that is searched only after a claim, the platform aims to organize visual evidence around the warehouse process and surface defined exceptions.

The useful distinction is focus. General-purpose video AI can identify people, vehicles, or objects. Arvist is positioned around warehouse quality control and the data systems that explain what should have happened. That can make it relevant when a facility needs to connect a shipment, scan, pallet, door, trailer, or exception to a usable video record.

Where Arvist fits

  • Shipping and receiving evidence: teams need faster review of shortages, overages, damage, or loading disputes.
  • Visual quality control: a defined process needs confirmation beyond a barcode scan or transaction record.
  • Dock visibility: operations leaders need video context around doors, trailers, staging areas, and handling activity.

Arvist is not automatically the right answer for perimeter security, access control, or a general camera refresh. Those requirements may call for a VMS, cameras, or a unified physical-security platform first. It also will not correct a process that lacks reliable identifiers or ownership. The strongest pilot begins with a known exception and a team prepared to act on the evidence.

Camera and integration requirements

Existing cameras may be usable, but “camera compatible” is not the same as “workflow ready.” A dock overview camera may show that a truck arrived while failing to capture a shipping label or damage condition. Tec-Tel reviews camera position, resolution, lighting, occlusion, frame rate, network path, and retention against the actual decision the operation needs to make.

The integration design matters just as much. The team should identify the WMS, ERP, scanners, shipment IDs, door assignments, timestamps, and exception codes needed to connect video with a transaction. Each system and site can expose data differently. Tec-Tel documents those dependencies before a rollout and avoids promising a specific connector until the interface is confirmed.

A practical pilot sequence

  1. Select one exception: choose a recurring damage, shipment, label, or process-review problem with an observable baseline.
  2. Map the process: identify where the item moves, which cameras see it, which scan or WMS record identifies it, and who reviews the exception.
  3. Validate the evidence: test representative day, night, busy, and obstructed conditions before judging the platform.
  4. Connect the data: associate the minimum required warehouse identifiers and confirm timestamp alignment.
  5. Measure the outcome: compare review time, evidence quality, and actionable exceptions against the current process.

Questions to ask before purchase

  • Which workflows are productized today and which require configuration?
  • Which camera views need to change for reliable visual evidence?
  • How does the platform connect to the specific WMS or ERP in use?
  • Where are video, clips, metadata, and identifiers retained?
  • How are exceptions assigned, reviewed, exported, and closed?
  • What result will justify expansion to another door, process, or facility?
